About Lisa

Education can be many things to many people. For me, education is one of the master keys to a vibrant career, which invites endless inspiration. As a result of my education and combined experience, there have been hundreds of opportunities to work with individuals transitioning to high school, to college, a vocation, or into a new career. Empowered, I provide specialized consulting in addressing the multitude of nuances throughout the college planning process.

Learning happens in a myriad of ways. Each individual has a particular set of circumstances, likes, wants, and needs. I enjoy gathering information, researching, connecting the dots, creating a map, as well as guiding and assisting individuals on their path. Engaged in these particular roles, I find myself inspired. It is my passion and focused intention to help students, of any age, navigate their way through the maze of educational choices and financial aid opportunities. Consequently, individuals make informed choices for their future.

Over the past fifteen years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals in a variety of settings, including non-profit organizations in youth leadership, a year at Cuesta College in Student Development, and five years at Mission College Preparatory High School as the College Counseling Specialist and Standardized Test / Scholarship Coordinator. After thorough research, a Strategic and Operational Plan was created igniting my business, Choice Educational Services, where I now serve individuals and families as a dedicated college specialist. My years of mentoring and counseling provide me with a framework, both broad and deep, for handling teen challenges, issues, developmental stages, and behaviors. My training has allowed me to develop an acute awareness of how teenagers communicate with their peers, their families, and their teachers.
